Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) eliminates the need to run power to devices on a wired LAN. Using Power-over-Ethernet, installers need to run only a single CAT5/5e Ethernet cable that carries both power and data to each device. This allows greater flexibility and significantly decreases installation costs in many cases.
IEEE 802.3af standard-2003 ratified at June 12, 2003. Power over Ethernet/LAN
1. Transmits low power on the Cat. 5 or 5e TP cable.
2. 44V-57V, 48V DC widely used
3. 350mA maximum,
4. 15.4W maximum per port output
5. 12.95W input deduced power lose on cable distance.
